Atheists in Recovery

Mar 4, 2021

Welcome to today’s show!

In today’s episode, I outline 5 Ways Hypnotherapy Can Help You Break through Emotional Rock Bottom.  Hypnotherapy is this podcast is a tool but it can be replaced with any resource you like: Brainspotting, Yoga, Meditation, and Memoirs (love a good memoir).

Emotional Rock Bottom

I reference a quote which I feel sums up the episode well.

Those Who Have A Why to Live Can Bear Almost Any How

-Viktor Frankl

WHAT WE’LL LEARN

  • There is always light in the darkness. It’s hard to imagine that life will ever get better. But it will. Hypnotherapy will shine a spotlight on your future self.
  • Even in your loneliest moments, you are not alone.  Hypnotherapy will help you gain greater clarity and awareness with what’s in front of you and all around you. Lean into that vulnerability.

  • The people who matter will be by your side (blood or not). The people that really care for you will stick around and those relationships will likely grow even stronger.
  • Shame is just a feeling (among many). Hypnotherapy can provide a direct link to shame. Will help you to get to where these feelings originated. And remember feelings are just temporary.
  • Case Study: Stefan. Stefan decided he could not live in the chaos anymore. He ultimately became the hero of his story instead of the victim.
  • Rock bottom is an opportunity to recreate your life. Make it a priority to reach out for help.
  • Bonus: By changing your identity, you change your behaviors. Hypnotherapy can help you change your story (usually after the 1st session). You and you alone are the one that creates meaning. Make the story you tell about your (future) self a good one!
